Present: M. Gurtman (Chair), L. McCann, L. Moeller, M. Mullen, L. Zaibert. Absent: E. Wilson
The meeting convened at 1 pm.
Minutes from the meeting of 10/31 were approved.
The Chair informed the Committee about his meeting with the MATH chair and about the present status of the restructuring proposal.
MATH 331 was approved, contingent on small changes to the course description (last two sentences).
BIOS 260 was tabled. The
main issue concerned whether 260 would continue to serve as a prerequisite for
courses that currently have 360 as prerequisite. It would be preferable to receive
the 260 proposal as part of a larger package that includes associated changes.
The Committee noted that changing 360 to 260 would also affect the number of
300-level offerings in the program. It would be useful to have an outline for
this revised course.
The Committee discussed whether to meet again this semester. A tentative meeting
was set for December 12 at 2 pm, contingent on sufficient business.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 1:40 pm.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Respectfully Submitted,
Michael Gurtman
