Minutes of the Meeting of February 20, 2004

Present: M. Gurtman (Chair), L. McCann, L. Moeller, M. Mullen E. Wilson, L. Zaibert

The meeting convened at 12:05 pm .

Minutes from the meeting of 2/13 are pending approval. They will be circulated.

Walt Graffin (ENL) joined the meeting.

ENGL 387, 287, and 380 were approved, with the following changes:

ENGL 387. Prereq: 287 or consent instructor. Counts as retake of ENgL 187. Title: Linguistics

ENGL 287. Counts as retake of 382.

ENGL 380. Prereq: ENGL 287 or consent instructor.

The change in the Language Concentration was approved.

A copy of the approvals will be sent to CAP, with the FYI note that the concentration change was not considered substantial. A copy will also be sent to PSYC. (May affect 304).

PSYC 280 was approved with the following addition: Prereq: PSYC 101 or consent instructor. (Confirmed after meeting by S. Beyer). A copy of the minutes will be sent to Women's Studies, so that their catalog copy can be changed.

Committee provided final approval to Honors Program changes. (B+ requirement was reinstated). A copy will be sent to CAP, with the FYI note that the changes were not considered substantial.

The Committee approved the description rewrite for PSYC 370.

The Committee briefly discussed issues concerning titling of courses and the agenda for the 3/12 meeting. In advance of the meeting, the chair will contact the Deans and Provost to solicit their ideas and concerns. Committee members will circulate, via email, possible issues for an agenda.

The Committee will meet next on 3/12 at 2 pm in MOLN 275A.
