Minutes of the Course and Curriculum Committee
for December 3, 1999

The meeting was called to order by S. Haller at 12:00 PM

Present: D. Bayuzick, M. Gurtman, S. Haller, T. Hanson, L. Piele

1. Lenny Klaver, Dept Chair Health, Physical Education, and Athletics was present to answer question about several course proposed course changes from that department.

Changes were approved for:

PHED 201, PHED 220, PHED 210 (PHED 310 old number), PHED 345, PHED 453, PHED 495, PHED 498.
Note: PHED 498 number was changed from 497 at the meeting.

Approved (4,0,0)

Course change/addition requests were approved pending receipt of new requests from PHED for the following courses:

PHED 350, PHED 380, PHED 400, PHED 420, PHED 432, PHED 450.

The committee felt that these courses should have stated prerequisites. For PHED 350 and 380, a prerequisite of PHED 210 or 220 was suggested.

2. New course approval was requested by Political Science and Health, Physical Education, and Athletics for:

HPEA/POLS 305
Note: HPEA is the proposed new code for PHED.

The committee approved the new course pending the specification of a prerequisite course of PHED 210 or some other POLS course.

3. No date was set for the committee's next meeting.
