Minutes of the Committee on Advising
for April 8, 2003

Present: Theresa Castor, Alan Goldsmith, Megan Mullen, Brad Piazza, Mary Power, Kristi Schoepfer
Not Present: Mark Eichner, Oliver Hayward, Bryan Lewis, Chris Zanowski

The meeting began officially at 12:30.

For the first part of the meeting, the committee discussed documents provided by Mary from the UW-System Academic and Career Advising Working Group. We observed that most of the issues identified by this group overlap with those identified by our committee. Thus the committee will have our list of recommendations (requested by the Provost/Vice Chancellor) completed by early May, when Mary will again meet (by teleconference) with the System-wide Task Force.

During the rest of the meeting we discussed items in the draft of recommendations (requested by the Provost/Vice Chancellor) that Kristi, Bryan, and Megan. Since we were only able to deal with about half the items, we will meet again soon to complete this task.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:45. The committee will meet next on on Tuesday, April 22, at 12:30.
