for December 11, 2003
Present: Theresa Castor, Alan Goldsmith, Susan Haller, Bryan Lewis, Megan Mullen, Brad Piazza, Gary Wood, Chris Zanowski
Absent: Ed Conrad, Mary Power, Dean Yohnk. Guest: Rebecca Martin
The meeting began officially at 2:00.
The meeting began with approval of minutes from the previous meeting.
Provost Martin joined us shortly after the meeting began. She discussed with the committee her and her cabinet's thoughts regarding re-implementation of the 60-credit major-declaration rule that is on the books but not enforced. The committee agreed to proceed with plans leading up to the implementation of this rule effective with registration for Spring 2005 courses.
After Provost Martin's departure the committee discussed scheduling an advising mini-conference for Friday, February 27, 3:00-5:00 PM. This conference would serve multiple purposes including announcing the 60-credit rule formally and conducting a question and answer session about it and having an advising workshop/panel discussion.
The Committee will meet again on Thursday, January 29 at 3:30 (CART 233) to discuss these plans further.
