Minutes of the Committee on Research Creative Activity
for September 24, 2003

The Meeting was called to order at 12:05 by S. Beyer.
Present: F. Akindes, S. Beyer, S. Haller, X. Li, T. Spring, J. Wolf. Late arrival: D. Bayuzick

1. Chair Election
S. Haller nominated by F. Akindes, second by S. Beyer. There were no other nominations. S. Haller elected (6,0,0)

2. The committee selected dates for fall meetings. These dates will be advertised, and all CRCA requests must be submitted to Kim Brudny's office one week in advance of each meeting date. Fall meeting dates are:

3. The committee considered the following proposals:

Yanick St. Jean: Conference travel to Atlanta, GA (tabled)
Christine Evans: Travel and training to Las Vegas, NV funded for $650
Zhaohui Li: Conference travel for presentation, Seattle, WA funded for $400
Jonathon Olsen: Conference travel for presentation, New Orleans, LA funded for $600
Yanick St. Jean: Conference travel for presentation, Norfolk, VA funded for $382
Alexander McNair: Conference travel for presentation, Boston, MA funded for $630
Xun Wang: Conference travel for presentation, Las Vegas, NV funded for $500
Joy Wolf: Conference travel for presentation, Philadelphia, PA funded for $640
Anne Statham: Conference travel for presentation, Toronto, Canada not funded
Lisa Marie Barber: Travel, transport, and installation costs for two shows, Indianapolis, IN funded for $1000
Lester McCann: Conference travel for presentation, Boulder, CO funded for $530

4. The committee agreed to meeting Friday, Sept 26 to start planning a fall CRCA colloquium.The meeting adjourned at 2:00 PM
