Minutes of the Committee on Research and Creative Activity
for September 20, 2006

The meeting commenced at 3:30.  Present: Christoph, Evans, Gurtman, Holmes, Khan, Lincke, Taylor
 

Susan Lincke was nominated for CRCA chair and the motion passed.

 

Policy revisions were reviewed.  Policy changes discussed and agreed upon related to:

• Strong encouragement of departments to fund all applications
• Strong encouragement of CRCA funding recipients to submit reports.

We will review Laurie’s revisions at the next meeting.

 

The CRCA nominees who are still eligible for the Research Award will be asked to speak at the fall showcase: John Skalbeck and Paul Mohazzabi.  Susan will contact them to determine a convenient date.

 

We reviewed the completeness of received CRCA applications.  CRCA members agreed to talk to their colleagues with incomplete applications, and the chair agreed to email applicants for more information.

 

We agreed to recopy and redistribute Roby Rajan’s application from last year.  The chair agreed to make sure this was ready for the next meeting.

 

The meeting adjourned at 5:10.
