Minutes of the Committee on Research and Creative Activity
for April 16 , 2007

The Meeting commenced at 2:05. Present: Christoph, Evans, Gurtman, Holmes, Lincke, Schmitt, Taylor. (Ed Schmitt replaces Farida Khan on Sabbatical.)

* Minutes of meeting on 3/5/07 and 4/9/07 were approved.

* The following proposals were examined, discussed, and funded:

Stephen Hawk – conference travel $527
Ubaldo Quevedo – conference travel $678
Farida Khan – conference travel $370
Theresa Castor – conference travel $320
Susan Lincke – conference travel $260
Suresh Chalesani – conference travel $360
Stu Hansen – conference travel $262
Siegfried Christoph – conference travel (Leeds) $552
Judy Springer – research award $218.47

Mary Lenard – conference travel $588. Funded provisionally awaiting a letter from her chairperson and proof of paper acceptance (an acceptance letter for the conference or schedule indicating presentation).

Three proposals were turned down. One proposal involved a panel presentation that did not appear to include a paper publication. Two other proposals involved coordination with others to work on papers or edited books, and/or chairing a panel.

Siegfried Christoph’s second application was tabled until new funding next year.

The CRCA money was expended for the year.

The meeting ended at 3:15.
