Minutes of the Committee on Research & Creative Activity
for November 23, 1999

Meeting of the CRCA was called to order at 2:05 p.m. Members present included Andrew McLean (Chair), Donna Carr, Michael Gurtman, Norman Cloutier, Susan Haller, and Dennis Bayuzick. Nina, from the grants office, was also present.

The CRCA agreed to table requests from all full professors and to discuss these proposals from Professors, Cress, Leeds-Hurwitz, Meyer, Rajan, and Sounderpandian next term when we have finished discussion of all requests from junior faculty at our next round.

Daphne Pham's request was denied, but forwarded to the Professional Opportunities Fund committee for consideration. CRCA felt her request more appropriate for this committee to act on.

Jo Anne Schneider's request was not funded. The Chair will work with Prof. Greenfield to have the administration fund this request in some other way.

The following requests were funded:

Fay Akindes (Communication)	$175.00 for travel expenses
Simon Akindes (Education)	$286.00 for travel expenses
Lori Allen (Chemistry)	$1,000.00 for research material
Herb Colston (Psychology)	$400.00 for travel expenses
Michele Gee (Business)	$1,0000.00 for travel expenses
Zhaohui Li (Geology)	$750.00 for research material
Tasha Souza (Communication)	$200.00 for transcription expenses
Lillian Traeger (Sociology)	$750.00 for research material
