Minutes of the Committee on Teaching & Learning
for September 29, 2000

Present: F. Akindes, S. Eaves, P. Lyter, R. Rajan. Absent: G. Greenfield, L. Gellott, J. Pinnow

The meeting was convened at 1:10 p.m. by outgoing chair Penny Lyter.

Fay Akindes was elected chair for the 2000-'01 year.

The 1999/2000 annual summary for the Committee on Teaching and Learning was circulated.

UTIC has changed its name to OPID - the Office of Professional and Instructional Development. It is arranging for Steven Bialek, UW System Office of Academic Affairs, to visit UW-Parkside this fall to speak on grant writing. Also, in addition to the Wisconsin Teaching Fellows Program, OPID is introducing a new program this year for Teaching Scholars - faculty with 10+ years of experience.

The next committee meeting will be on Friday, October 20, 1 p.m. in Wyllie 107A.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:40 p.m.
