Minutes of the Faculty Rights and Responsibilities Committee

Attendees:  Professors Allen, Holmes, Longeway, Norton, Schleiter and Wood

Excused/Absent:  Professors Gellott, Mullen and Rosenberg

The meeting was called to order by Professor Longeway at 3:30 PM. 

New Business:

Call for Chair:  Professor Wood nominated Professor Allen, nomination was seconded by Professor Holmes.  No other nominations were received and Professor Allen was elected by majority. 

Continuation of Prior Grievance: 

Professor Schleiter dissociated herself from the Committee for this case. 

Professor Allen was to complete the following action(s): 

• Pool schedules to determine possible dates/times for hearings,

• Check with missing members regarding their eligibility and then consult with UC (if/as needed) for additional representatives,

• Inform parties involved and request their schedule(s),

• Request/allow for updated materials by parties,

• Insure that newcomers to the committee have the previous documents,

• Insure that the party(ies) are aware of information previously requested by the Committee, 

• Finalize hearing arrangements/protocols in accordance with prior arrangements and university policy.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 4:00 PM.
