Excused: Rizvana Zameeruddin, Felicia Esters
WLH called the meeting to order 9:10
The minutes for 3/24/04 were approved with appropriate modifications.
WLH asked for the enrollment numbers in Master of Administration, Master of Science in Applied Molecular Biology, Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems, and UWP-UWM Consortial Graduate Programs in Education from Bill Blanchard, but due to the Peoplesoft conversion, they are not currently available. JG offered a rough estimate for the Master of Administration Program (67); DP, for the Master of Science in Applied Molecular Biology Program (18); SH, for Master of Science in Computer and Information System Program (7). JG said that the Ed Masters has virtually none.
WLH went over the mandate for the Committee, and asked to Committee to elect a Chair. DP was elected chair.
DP asked about the status and needs of graduate programs at UWP. JG went over the history, needs as well as foreseeable future of the graduate programs.
Some of the suggested programs are:
Master in Public Administration
Physician Assistance; Forensic Sciences; Med/Tech Master in Education Programs gearing toward growing underrepresentated populations (e.g.,
Hispanic)
JG emphasized that there will be no money from System to develop new programs.
DP was asked to send out e-mail soliciting ideas from Chairs and Directors.
Respectfully,
Daphne Pham
