Minutes of the Graduate Studies Committee
for October 16, 2007

The Graduate Studies Committee met on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. in Greenquist 344A.  In attendance were Robert Barber, Karen Crooker, Fred Ebeid,

J. Ubaldo Quevedo, Scott Thomson, Xun Wang and Gary Wood.

The minutes from the meeting of December 4, 2006 were accepted as distributed.

Gary Wood was nominated to chair the committee, the nomination was accepted and the aye vote was unanimous.

The self study of the M.S. in Computer Information Systems program is under review by the Committee on Academic Planning (CAP).  The Chair will consult with Susan Takata, Chair of CAP about the role of the Graduate Studies in this process.  The charge to the committee states, briefly, that whatever CAP does for undergraduate programs, the Graduate Studies Committee does for graduate programs.

Ubaldo will draft an outline for a masters program in instructional technology and share this information with Stu Hansen from Computer Science and Kelly McFatter from Teacher Education to get their feedback.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
