(5) $150 to Alan Goldsmith to assist in the funding of the
presentation, ‘The Art of Egg Tempera Painting,” by artist Douglas Safranek on December 2nd. (Alvaro moved, Ed seconded).
(6) $270 to Fay Akindes to assist in the funding of “African ‘Voodoo’,” a
public lecture by Professor Patrick Bellegarde-Smith. (Ed moved, Alan seconded).
Tabled pending further information was the request by Lillian Trager and Anne Statham for assistance in the funding of the public lecture, “Democracy in
Action: Global Implications” by Dr. William Rugh and Dr. Andrea Rugh on April 5-6.
It was with regret that the LFAC had to decline Rita Pyrillis’ request for $500 to fund the lecture and traditional drumming exhibition, “In the Spirit of Crazy Horse” by Jerry Clown. The reason for declining was the $480 that the LFAC allocated to two of Pyrillis’ projects at our previous meeting.
