Report of the
Personnel Review Committee: 2002-03

The Personnel Review Committee (PRC) and its Full Professor Subcommittee (FPS) met as follows in 2002-03.

September 27, 2002: at which time Walter Feldt was elected chair of both committees and the year's calendar was agreed upon

October 18, 2002: conducted informal public session for chairs and potential candidates

On January 21, 2003, Professor Feldt announced that he had accepted the position of Secretary of the Faculty. His position on the committee was filled by Associate Professor Jamie Wang (Business) and on the full professor subcommittee by Professor Carole Vopat (English) in accordance with the rules governing such substituions.

At the first evidentiary session on January 31, 2003, Frances M. Kavenik was elected chair of the committee; on the first evidentiary session of the full professor subcommittee on February 21, 2003, Frances M.. Kavenik was elected chair of the subcommittee.

January 31 and February 14, 2003: PRC met in evidentiary session (January 31) and deliberative session (February 14) to consider six recommendations from academic departments that probationary faculty members be propoted to the rank of associate professor with tenure.

On February 21 and March 7, 2003: the Full Professor Subcommittee met in evidentiary session (February 21) and deliberative session (March 7) to consider the department recommendation that one associate professor be promoted to full professor.

April 14, 2003: conducted informal public session for chairs and potential candidates
