The September 25, 2007 meeting of the University Committee was called to order in CA 233 by Frances Kavenik, Vice-Chair. Also attending were members Chris Evans, Stu Hansen, and Greg Mayer. E. Zepp was present as Secretary of the Faculty. Members Dennis Rome and Peggy James recused themselves.
1) Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 3:05 P.M.
2) Minutes:
Approval of minutes was postponed until the next regular meeting.
3) Announcements:
There were no announcements.
4) The Committee dealt with two last minute business items before going into closed session:
a) The Chancellor had asked for nominations for the University Planning Committee: 10 faculty names were proposed (Gary Wood, Scott Thomson, Michelle Gee, Penny Lyter, Suresh Chalasani, Susan Takata, Bill Murin, Will Zheng, Ubaldo Quevedo, John Skalbeck).
b) Topics submitted for the “building meetings” with Chancellor Keating and Interim Provost Greenfield were reviewed.
5) A motion was made by Greg Mayer to go into closed session, in accordance with Wis. Stat. 19.85 (1) (b), (c), and (g) in order to consider a personnel matter and to receive legal advice. The motion was seconded and passed 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 abstentions.
6) The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 P.M.
