Dr. Hanson described plans for the annual fund drive that will begin in March. To strengthen our appeal for the financial support of alumni and friends in the community, the fund drive will begin with an appeal to employees. Even if the amount collected from employees is small, the proportion of our employees who contribute will have an impact on our prospects for obtaining significant support from others. Members of the Committee expressed strong support for this initiative and offered to assist in drafting the appeal to faculty and staff members. Members also offered to make personal appeals to colleagues, asking for their support now and in the subsequent appeal to alumni and friends in the community.
Dr. Hanson left the meeting.
Professor Duetsch reported that the University Committee election had resulted in a tie for the second open seat. By agreement with the individuals involved, the tie was broken by the toss of a coin. The new members of the Committee will be Professors Feldt and Van Dyke.
The meeting adjourned at
