The Faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside will hold its Fall 1998 meeting at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 1998 in Molinaro Hall D137.

The University Committee has approved the following agenda:

Committee of the Whole Discussion: Regarding Criteria for Personnel Decisions

A motion to go into a committee of the whole will be automatically on the floor. Should the meeting vote to do so, the committee of the whole will be chaired by the Chair of the University Committee. Under UWPF 1.04(3), the Chancellor is the presiding officer for faculty meetings, except in such discussions.

During the discussion, the Chancellor will present his views regarding suitable criteria for faculty personnel decisions in an engaged university. It is anticipated that the discussion will seek to identify ways in which the definition of teaching, creative activity, and service in UWP 6.01 might be revised to better reflect the campus' mission, objectives, and vision.

The committee of the whole may report recommendations representing a consensus of the meeting as determined by the Chair, or it may rise without report.

Committee of the Whole Discussion: Regarding the Development of the Campus' 2008 Plan

A motion to go into a committee of the whole will be automatically on the floor. Should the meeting vote to do so, the committee of the whole will be chaired by the Chair of the University Committee. Under UWPF 1.04(3), the Chancellor is the presiding officer for faculty meetings, except in such discussions.

During the discussion, the Chancellor will present his views regarding the UW System 2008 Plan and the campus' participation in that plan. It is anticipated that the discussion will seek to generate ideas regarding specific measurable objectives that the campus should establish and seek to attain. (See attachment 2)

The committee of the whole may report recommendations representing a consensus of the meeting as determined by the Chair, or it may rise without report.
