WHEREAS, Professor Arthur Dudycha (Business) taught business statistics very
effectively, led the development of the MBA program, and was the chief architect
of many departmental and university policies;
AND WHEREAS, Professor Dudycha was a member (at one time or another) of virtually every major departmental and university committee, and often served as Grand Marshal for commencement;

WHEREAS, Associate Professor Gerald Fowler (Geology) refered to himself as a "born micropaleontologist";

WHEREAS, Professor Richard Keehn (Economist) brought both his academic accomplishments and his practical experience to the classroom;

PSF 11/02-03
WHEREAS, Professor Peter Martin used his gift for story-telling and his wide-ranging knowledge of literature to establish himself as one of the most popular English professors, receiving a Stella Gray Teaching Excellence Award and serving for many years as an advisor to new freshmen;
AND WHEREAS, Professor Martin served for many years on UW System committees that created and maintained the English placement tests and coordinated library functions for all campuses;
AND WHEREAS, Professor Martin founded and still directs The Friends of the Library, an organization that raises funds for the library and also presents many intellectually stimulating programs;

WHEREAS, Professor Frank Mueller made a major contribution in academic advising and prepared many music students for graduate school;

WHEREAS, Professor Dwayne Olsen (Teacher Education) distinguished himself as a dedicated and effective teacher as an outstanding citizen, particularly through his involvement with the Racine Unified School District Board, the Racine Interfaith Coalition, and the Racine Public Library Board of Trustees;
AND WHEREAS, Professor Olsen was instrumental in establishing the Constitution Bowl, an event that still brings hundreds of Wisconsin high school students to the UW-Parkside campus each year;

WHEREAS, Associate Professor Curtis Richards (Geography) began his career in 1967 at the UW Center in Kenosha and was always an enthusiastic instructor, who especially enjoyed leading the summer course at the Pigeon Lake Field Station;
AND WHEREAS, his teaching/research emphasized urban geography , American railroads, and the changing role of rail transportation in the American economy;

WHEREAS, Professor Michael Rotenberg (Mathematics) is an English gentleman with a special style of teaching that attracted students to his classes, students who say that, were it not for him, they would not have made it through Calculus;
AND WHEREAS, Professor Rotenberg demonstrated a passion for bike riding by never letting rain, sleet or snow deter him from his ride to school;

WHEREAS, Professor James Shea (Geology) is thought to have been the first faculty member hired for the UW-Parkside campus in 1968;
AND WHEREAS, as a sedimentologist, Professor Shea was a strong proponent of inquiry-based laboratory exercises for his students;
AND WHEREAS, Jim chaired the Geology Department and gave UW-Parkside national recognition through his activities as editor of the Journal of Geoscience Education;
