Whereas, Professor Richard Rosenberg has been one of the most thought-provoking teachers in the Economics Department. His passion for economics has endeared him to both students and his colleagues, and

Whereas , his areas of teaching and writing were Economic Development, Comparative Economic Systems, and the US Macroeconomy. He gave many lectures about the problems with Social Security in the United States years before the current debate regarding the privatization of Social Security. He had a keen awareness of and insight into important economic issues of the day and found particular joy in discussing and debating these issues, a trait that inspired many students in his classes, and

Whereas , his understanding of economics was broad-based and therefore allowed him to be a colleague and teacher who never forgot the big picture, and

Whereas , he served on the Foreign Film and International Studies Steering Committee for many years,

Therefore be itResolved, That, upon the recommendation of the faculty of the Department of Economics, the Faculty Senate, on behalf of the entire Faculty of the UW-Parkside, wishes Professor Rosenberg many years of happy and healthful retirement.
