Resolved, that the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Faculty Senate approves the proposed General Studies Certificate Transfer Agreement between Moraine Park Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
GENERAL STUDIES CERTIFICATETRANSFER AGREEMENT
BETWEENMoraine Park Technical College
AND
THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - PARKSIDE
The purpose of this transfer agreement is to provide a seamless transfer process for Moraine Park Technical College students who desire to continue their education by attending UW-Parkside. Through the collaborative efforts of faculty, student services, and administration, these students will encounter a clear path to reach their educational goals. This agreement is based on the following principles:
Each institution will contribute its strength, expertise, and services toward the joint goal of serving students interested in earning 30 credits at Moraine Park Technical College that are transferable toward a baccalaureate degree.
Some core distribution courses and graduation requirements may still remain to be completed at UW-Parkside. This program is not major specific; students transferring to a four-year university may need additional pre-requisite courses for a specific major.
Each institution will benefit programmatically from the strategic alliance.
Each institution will make a long-term commitment to supporting the program through a cohort of students as well as transitional resources to begin the joint alliance.
Students who successfully complete the following Moraine Park certificate:
General Studies Transfer Certificate
and who meet the admission transfer requirements of UW-Parkside and any other conditions specified in this agreement will be admitted to UW-Parkside with 30 credits toward the liberal arts requirements for their degree.

Marketing. Any marketing of this agreement will be subject to the prior approval of both parties and will adhere to each institution’s standards for the use of its name and logo. Each institution will assume responsibility for appropriate marketing to reach its student population. Each institution may provide a link to this agreement and/or the other institution at its website, with notice to the other party.
Accreditation. Both parties agree that failure to maintain regional accreditation will be grounds for termination of the agreement.
Periodic Review. This agreement will be reviewed every two years prior to the publication of the UW Parkside catalog, or earlier if curricular or institutional policy changes warrant. Each institution agrees to notify the other of significant curricular or policy changes in a timely manner.
Cancellation. Both parties agree to provide at least one hundred eighty (180) days advance written notification of their intent to cancel this agreement. Moraine Park students who apply to UW-Parkside prior to the cancellation date will be permitted to transfer credits under the agreement terms.
Program-to-Program Agreements. Nothing in this agreement shall limit the transfer of credits under a program-to-program articulation agreement or otherwise supersede the terms of such an agreement.

Students will be required to supply an original transcript from the originating institution for courses transferred to Moraine Park Technical College and may be required to provide syllabi for some courses.
