Dissolution of the Teacher Education Department and Restructuring of Teacher Preparation Programs

Resolved, that the Teacher Education Department is dissolved.

Further resolved, that the Chancellor and the Provost will consult with the University Committee, the Academic Staff Committee and the Classified Staff Committee as decisions are made regarding the dissolution of the department.

Further resolved, that the Provost will be responsible for developing a process to ensure that students currently in teacher licensure programs will be able to complete those programs in a timely manner.

Further resolved, that the Chancellor and the Provost will consult with appropriate governance groups, faculty and staff, and appropriate community groups including representatives from local school districts in the development of new teacher education and teacher preparation programs.
