Dissolution of the Teacher

Preparation Steering Committee
PSF 6/09-10

Whereas, the Teacher Preparation Steering Committee of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside was created to be the governing entity of the Teacher Education Department (Senate Resolution PSF 06/03-04) with the goals of working toward the establishment of a seamless network of internal and external partnerships that effects full integration of teacher development across the College of Arts and Sciences, forging vital links between content area faculty, teacher education faculty and administrators in public schools and districts, and

Whereas, the Teacher Education Department faculty have resumed the responsibilities for the oversight of the above goals as well as teacher preparation policies, procedures, program goals, standards and the rendering of decisions on all aspects of teacher preparation having an impact on content-area programs, general education and/or professional sequence of studies,

Be it Resolved, that PSF 06/03-04 which created the Teacher Preparation Steering Committee, is rescinded.

Be it Further Resolved, that PSF 07/03-04 which recommended the creation of an administrative position to act as Chair of the Teacher Preparation Steering Committee, is rescinded.

Be it Further Resolved, that the Teacher Preparation Steering Committee be dissolved.

The approved resolution becomes PSF 6/09-10.

 

The approved resolution rescinds PSF 6/03-04 and PSF 7/03-04.
