The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Faculty Senate will meet on Tuesday, October 6, 1998 at 3:30 PM in Molinaro Hall, room D137.

The University Committee has approved the following agenda:

Call to Order by Larry Duetsch, temporary chair.

Election of a Chair

Under UWPF 1.07(1)(a), the first order of business each fall is the election of the Chair of the Senate for the Committee Year. The Secretary of the Faculty presides during the election.

Approval of Minutes of the April 21, 1998 meeting (see PSF 27 97/98 attached).

NEW BUSINESS

Representation of Students on Faculty Search Committees

The University Committee recommends the following resolution:

Resolved, that search and screen committees for faculty and instructional academic staff positions include at least one student member.

Departmental Reorganization

Committee on Academic Planning recommends reorganization of the Department of Computer Science and Technology as described in agenda document #-1.

Approval of a New Major

Committee on Academic Planning recommends approval of a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology as described in agenda document #2.(A complete program proposal is being distributed to members of the Senate.
