I
have been a member of the UW-Parkside history department since 2004.
In addition to teaching history 101 and 102, I regularly offer upper
level courses on Colonial America, the Early Republic, the Civil War,
the Gilded Age, and Native American history.
I completed my Ph.D. at UCLA in 2001, and received my B.A. and M.A. from Smith
College. Prior to becoming a professor, I worked for the federal government in
Washington, DC.
My book, Celebrating the Republic: Presidential Ceremony and Popular Sovereignty from Washington to Monroe, will be published by Northern Illinois University Press in December 2009.
