Assistant Mathematics Professor-Applied Math

  
The Mathematics Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Mathematics to begin August 26th, 2012.  The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate mathematics, and to mathematical research. Applicants are sought whose area of research is in applied mathematics or topology. Duties of the position are teaching undergraduate mathematics, research activity and university service. The standard teaching load for all full time faculty is 21 credits per academic year, as indicated in UWPF policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teaching a full range of undergraduate mathematics courses
• Conducting research and publishing in research journals
• Engaging in service to the students, department of mathematics, university and community

 

QUALIFICATIONS

            Required

• PhD in Mathematics
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching of undergraduate mathematical courses
• An established research record and potential for research in mathematics

            Preferred

• Research interests in the areas of: applied mathematics and topology  
• Demonstrated experience working with a culturally diverse student, staff and faculty

Salary:

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University of Wisconsin System provides a liberal benefits package, including participation in a state pension plan.
