ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

Position Summary
The Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management will oversee, direct and develop the crucial function of enrollment management for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Associate Vice Chancellor will provide creative and visionary leadership in developing and implementing strategic enrollment initiatives that promote achievement of the UW-Parkside’s mission, priorities, and strategic goals. The person in this position will represent UW-Parkside externally in various capacities related to enrollment management. This person will supervise the leadership of the following functional areas: Office of the Registrar, Admissions and New Student Services, College Access, Readiness and Transition and Financial Aid and Scholarships.

UW-Parkside grants bachelor's and master's degrees in more than 30 academic programs and currently enrolls 5,200 students, many of whom are first-generation and nontraditional. UW-Parkside benefits from the cultural diversity of the communities it serves in southeast Wisconsin. Located in northern Kenosha County in the Chicago-Milwaukee urban corridor, much of the university’s 700-acre campus has been preserved in its natural wooded and prairie state.
Responsibilities
Vision and Leadership
- Create a shared vision for achieving enrollment goals and implementation of university, college and unit strategic enrollment plans.
- Direct efforts of the offices of the Registrar, Admissions and New Student Services, and Financial Aid and Scholarships, and New Student orientation to increase enrollment and promote student success.
- Collaborate with others to develop marketing and recruiting pieces that support the institutional brand image and increase student enrollment.
- Work closely with office of Institutional Effectiveness to ensure access to key performance indicators that drive strategic enrollment initiatives.
- Work within a shared governance environment to ensure the alignment of academic program development with market demand.
- Develop innovative, data-based, and effective approaches to enrollment management as student needs and technology capabilities change and expand.
- Advise the campus on retention strategies.
- Develop collaborative relationships working with students, faculty, staff and administrators within the University.
Operations
- Ensure EM functions, program and services effectively and efficiently meet the needs of diverse constituents.
- Oversee the utilization of an enrollment management system(s) to track enrollment data, personalize communication with a diverse prospect pool, automate outreach efforts, and generate reports to drive enrollment strategies.
- Work with EM units to ensure integrated processes and data integrity.
- Develop and manage program budgets and fiscal resources.
- Performs other duties as required
Essential Knowledge and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of enrollment management principles and ability to evaluate current issues and trends in higher education recruitment and retention in order to implement best practices.
- Thorough knowledge of diversity and multicultural issues, traditional, non-traditional, and transfer student concerns, access, and engagement issues.
- Comprehensive experience developing enrollment strategies for students of color, first year experience, adult students, and underrepresented students.
- Comprehensive knowledge of enrollment management assessment tools, ability to read and interpret complex data and have a commitment to data-driven decisions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of an integrated resource planning environment and ability to integrate enrollment planning with strategic planning, academic planning and facilities planning
- Ability to successfully lead and implement initiatives while developing and empowering staff.
- Ability to integrate a holistic approach to student recruitment, enrollment, and success, including the coordination of intentional links between formal academic learning experiences and student life experiences.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exemplary service to students and to maintain standards of quality and integrity for all support services programs.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with student, faculty, staff and other units within the University as a way to advance Inclusive Excellence.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to create a team environment in order to advance the enrollment goals of the University.
- Ability to grow enrollments among new populations of students—adult, international and veteran students
Education, Experience, Training and/or Certifications
Required
- Master’s degree or higher in student affairs, higher education administration, or a related field
- Seven or more years of related work experience in higher education administration with some experience in enrollment management and student affairs
- Evidence of increasing levels of responsibility in higher education
- Demonstrated success in recruitment and retention efforts
Preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing enrollment strategies that increase students in underrepresented areas
- Evidence of developing and implementing innovative programming based on data collection and analysis
