Assistant/Associate Professor of Educator Development (2 positions)
The Institute of Professional Educator Development at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside seeks highly qualified, innovative scholars in the field of educator preparation and development to serve as founding faculty in this bold endeavor.
UW-Parkside announces two (2) full time tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning fall of 2013. The University is launching a collaboratively designed, regionally responsive clinical program of professional educator development. The Institute of Professional Educator Development houses the newest educator development program in the state of Wisconsin. The program design is based on the recommendations of the NCATE/CAEP Blue Ribbon Panel of Clinical Preparation and Partnerships for Improved Student Learning (NCATE, 2010).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the Institute; advising undergraduate students; supervision of field experiences and directed teaching in the undergraduate program; leadership in the Institute; establishing and maintaining an active research program; grant writing; service activities and working collaboratively with the Institute staff, Educator Development Program Committee and advisory board. Working with diverse populations and non-traditional students is essential for these positions. The position requires service to the profession, university and local community, including supporting the Educator Learning Community and mentoring students with a strong focus on the clinical program and the schools and community groups supporting those placements. Research interests should focus on educator development, adult learning, clinical practice or related areas. The successful candidate may be required to teach online and hybrid courses and/or weekend and evening classes. This is an academic year position (9 months) and the position will start August 19, 2013.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University of Wisconsin System provides a benefits package, including participation in a state pension plan.
