Painter/2D Foundations
Assistant Professor
The Art Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites application for an Assistant Professor in Painting/2D Foundations beginning August 2013.
The successful applicant should have abilities and teaching experience in Painting and 2D Foundations, including drawing. Active professional activity in the painting and related interdisciplinary approaches is essential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- MFA in Painting or related field.
- Evidence of an active exhibition record and a current portfolio of quality creative work in Painting and related mediums.
Preferences:
- 1+ year(s) of college level teaching beyond graduate school.
- Demonstrated ability to teach all levels of drawing including Life Drawing.
- Demonstrated ability to teach 2-D Design, digital painting, and/or use of water-based materials.
- Effective writing abilities.
- Ability working with students of diverse and multicultural backgrounds (including non-traditional-aged students, first generation students.)
- Ability to work as a team player and participate in university and department service activities.
SALARY: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University of Wisconsin System provides a liberal benefits package, including participation in a state pension plan.
