The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the Director of Recruitment and Admissions to start in the beginning of the 2014 spring semester.
The Director of Recruitment and Admissions is responsible for leading a team in reaching enrollment goals for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Director designs the recruitment strategies, oversees the application and selection processes and manages budget and resources. As a key member of the Enrollment Management team, this position reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management.
About the University:
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is a comprehensive campus of the University of Wisconsin System with approximately 4800 students, 120 faculty, and 70 instructional academic staff offering 33 undergraduate majors and 3 master’s degrees in 22 academic departments. The campus is located between the cities of Kenosha and Racine in southeastern Wisconsin, within the Chicago-Milwaukee corridor.
The university is situated on 700 acres of prairie and woodland approximately two miles west of Lake Michigan. Consisting of 15 buildings, the coherence and unity of the original campus design within its natural landscape has been sustained over four decades of development. Recent additions include a renovated and expanded student center, a 250 bed suite-style residence hall, and a greatly expanded and renovated center for the arts and humanities.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of 5 years of admissions related experience or sales/marketing experience.
Working knowledge of all aspects of the admissions process, including expertise with admissions recruitment strategies, territory management, the recruitment funnel/cycle
Evidence of management skills and competence in personnel, budget, and enrollment services is necessary.
Experience working with student information systems databases in admissions and transfer evaluation processing
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and represent the institution professionally with a variety of on- and off-campus constituents, including Housing, Financial Aid, Diversity & Inclusion, International Student Services, Disability Services, and Academic Affairs;
Demonstrated ability to establish and implement growth oriented admissions/enrollment goals, including diverse populations or growth oriented and sales goals.
A Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel Services or a closely related area
A minimum of 5-7 successful, progressive years of college admissions experience are required.
Experience with marketing, public relations and/or communication strategies including experience utilizing cutting-edge technologies
Documented experience utilizing a customer relationship management software in the recruitment/admissions process.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University of Wisconsin System provides a liberal benefits package, including participation in a state pension plan.
