Mental Health Counselor
University of Wisconsin – Parkside invites applications for a 9-month part time (20 hours/week) Mental Health Counselor. This is a 9 month appointment with no expectation of renewal.
Responsibilities:
- Provide short term individual counseling, assessment and referral.
- Provide crisis intervention for students in cases of psychological emergency or campus community crisis.
- Consult with members of the university regarding concerns about unusual, problematic or potentially harmful behavior.
- Coordinate and facilitate group therapy sessions if deemed appropriate by the department.
Qualifications:
Required
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field and at least 1 year post-Master’s psychotherapy experience.
Preferred
- Certified or the ability to be certified in AODA.
- Licensed or hours completed for licensure as a professional counselor (LPC).
- Experience working in a college setting.
- Group therapy experience.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
