Lecturer, Sociology/Anthropology (75% time)
The Sociology-Anthropology Department at the University of Wisconsin Parkside invites applications for a part-time Lecturer of Sociology. This is a 75% appointment.
Qualifications
Required:
A master’s in Sociology is required by August of 2009 with a proven ability to teach applied introduction to sociology, Asians in US society, and Death and Dying. The position requires a proven ability to teach these courses.
Preferred:
The department has a strong preference for those who can provide students with community based learning experiences, recruit new majors, and promote retention among first year students, and whose background and experience prepare them to work effectively with diverse students and faculty.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, academic advising and participation in departmental/campus/community service.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
