Assistant/Associate/Full Professor: Sport Management
The Health, Exercise Science and Sport Management department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for a full time tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Sport Management beginning in the 2010-2011 academic year.
Qualifications:
Required:
Earned terminal degree (Ph.D, Ed.D, J.D., etc.) requiredby the time of appointment. ABD will be considered for a one-year only appointment as a Lecturer with conversion to tenure track Assistant Professor if terminal degree is completed by June 2011. Primary focus should be in the area of sport law with the ability to teach Legal Issues in Sport and Fitness Management and Advanced Legal Issues in Sport Management. Demonstrated promise as a scholar; service to the profession, campus, community, region, and nation. Strong interest in undergraduate education and ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student population.
Preferences:
Ability to teach Ethics and Issues in Sport Management, Introduction to Sport and Fitness Management, Sport and Society and/or Senior Seminar in Sport Management. It is desirable for the applicant to have awareness of and contacts with potential intern/fieldwork placement sites, experience in a sport-related industry, and have the ability to advise undergraduate students in sport management. Demonstrated experience in working effectively with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include: teaching, scholarly research activity, advising undergraduate students majoring in Sport Management, supervising fieldwork/internship placements, and participating in departmental/campus/ community/professional service.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University of Wisconsin System provides a liberal benefits package, including participation in a state pension plan.
