Teacher Education Preceptor/Clinical Coordinator
Appointment: The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the Preceptor/Clinical Coordinator position in Teacher Education. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated teaching excellence and administrative skill to facilitate preservice and student teaching field assignments for candidates seeking licensure.
Required Qualifications: Candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Education or a related field and a minimum of three years of successful teaching in PK-12 school settings. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must along with ability to use computer to facilitate communication data management. A record of commitment to teaching and learning including the application of the Wisconsin Teaching Standards and DPI policies is essential. A demonstrated record of the ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students and various off-campus constituencies representing diverse populations and urban settings and the abilitity to negotiate/facilitate collaborative efforts among relevant constituencies required.
Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have extensive study beyond the master’s degree including but not limited to an earned Educational Specialist, PhD or equivalent in education or related field with experience supervising teacher education candidates. Licensure as a school administrator with experience in supervising student teachers as both a teacher and school administrator is desired. Previous experience in a university setting is also preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and facilitating placements for Preservice teachers
- Communicating with school partners
- Assisting students, teachers, and school administrators with remediation related to field experiences, and monitoring the completion of field experiences and student teaching in accordance with the Department of Public Instruction’s policies and procedures.
- The incumbent will also be responsible for training and evaluation related to field experiences.
