Assistant/Associate Professor: Theatrical Design & Technology

The Theatre Arts Department at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside invites immediate applications for an assistant or associate professor position in costume and make up design and technology. This tenure-track position begins August15, 2010. Courses to be taught include costume construction and crafts, costume design, theatrical make up, theatre appreciation, and seminar courses. This artist/educator will design costumes, make-up, and/or related crafts for 3-4 fully produced productions annually.
Qualifications:
Required: MFA in theatrical design (costume and make-up focus); proven teaching and academic theatre experience; professional design credits, and experience in mentoring student designers; strong interest in undergraduate education and ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student population.
Preferences: production budgeting experience, computer-aided design skills, experience in costume crafts and properties; demonstrated experience in working effectively with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
