No. You do not have to study or prepare for the ETS Proficiency Profile. The goal is to take a snapshot of your skills as they are as your enter the university, and to better understand your needs and your strengths. The ETS Proficiency Profile draws on what you already know - you do not need to prepare.
No. The ETS Proficiency Profile is not the UW-Parkside placement exam. The placement exams are administered separately.

The testing company will help you. Technical support is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST by sending e-mail to ETS Proficiency Profile Support@testsys.com. You will typically receive a response within an hour during the above hours. You may also call ETS support in the U.S. at: 1-800-514-8491 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. In the past they have helped students when there were browser problems, on screen problems, computer questions, etc. Download the handout called "Student Instructions" for more information.
If you have not run over the ETS Proficiency Profile time limit 40 minutes, you will be able to reenter the exam at that time. Just go back into the ETS Proficiency Profile using the login and password that you created. Logging back in should only occur if there is a storm or if your system shuts down.
