The University of Wisconsin-Parkside encourages all new incoming students, and all one-semester students to live On-Campus. Our belief is to integrate students as much as possible into campus life. Living on campus is convenient, because the facilities are close by and you will not need transportation to go back and forth to classes. Depending on where you live, you may choose a meal plan. After a year of living on campus, you may consider off-campus housing.
A) On-Campus Housing:
All freshmen & sophomores (who have not earned 54 credits by Fall 2013) are required by the University of Wisconsin System to reside in the Residence Halls unless you qualify for an exemption. To sign up for housing, you will need to complete a residence hall contract on our website. You will need your UWP Email address and password to log into the system. To complete the contract, go to http://www.uwp.edu/departments/residence.life/and click on the “Complete your Residence Hall and Dining Contract Here” icon. Students who do not complete a contract will not be permitted to move into a Residence Hall.
RESIDENCE HALL OPTIONS
Assignments are made based on your contract completion date and the preferences you enter when you complete your contract. Students who complete their contract closer to the start of the academic year are less likely to get their preferred living option. Information about the different residence hall living options can be found here: http://www.uwp.edu/departments/residence.life/residenceHalls.cfm.
International students are highly encouraged to apply to live in the Global Village Community. This is a living/ learning community of U.S. students and International students. An additional online application is required to live on this floor. This information can be found here:
When you complete your residence hall application, you will also be asked to choose a dining plan. All students living on campus are required to have a meal plan. Dining plans will be available for use when you arrive to campus.
Students can request to move into the Residence Halls prior to the official move-in date by contacting the Office of Residence Life at email@example.com. Students who arrive early will be charged $17.65 per day.
