Requirements for Undergraduate Admissions:

PRIORITY DEADLINES: Applications and documents should reach us by the following dates: November 1 for spring semester (January) enrollment, June 1 for fall semester (September) enrollment. Students who want on-campus residence hall housing for September must apply as early as possible.

What you will need:

  1. Academic Documents:
    Students must submit Academic Records ( called transcripts in the U.S. ) confirming secondary and or university education. These must be official copies, certified English translation . If you plan to transfer university credits from a non U.S. School, academic records or transcripts must be in the original language with a certified English translation. Transcripts should include the dates of attendance, level of study, list of subjects, school-leaving marks (grades) earned, and the grading system used. Official records should include all exam or test results and certificates, diplomas or degrees earned. All these requirements are required and must be official documents. Photocopies of official records are acceptable if they have been certified by and authorized university, government or public official after they are made.

    Official English language translation can be obtained by sending your transcripts to : ECE, WES, or One Earth.

  2. Proficiency in English
    If English is not your native language, you are required to provide evidence of English language competence, normally by presenting a degree from an English-speaking university or by satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), administered by the Educational Testing Service. The student is responsible for paying for this test and for seeing that test scores are sent directly to the Admissions Office.

    A minimum score of 525 on the TOEFL (197 Computer based or 71 internet based) or STEP Pre-1 st Grade level (in lieu of TOEFL 530/197) or
    ELS completion of level 112.

    Students transferring from U.S. colleges and universities may be excused from the TOEFL if they demonstrate competence in English through courses taken at such institutions. However, this will be determined by Admissions.

    Need an English Language Program? The University of Wisconsin-Parkside does not have an ESL program, but you may enroll in ESL at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha , Wisconsin . Once you have taken the TOEFL exam, you may apply to UW-Parkside.

    This form is referred to as the "Sponsorship Form." Parents usually complete this form, but a U.S. family or an institution may also be responsible for the student's finances. In addition, prospective students must provide official documentation from a financial institution (bank) that shows the ability to pay for education while in the U.S. The funds must be accessible to you during your time in the U.S. The amount of funds must be verified in U.S. dollars.

  4. $44 Application Fee
    Pays for evaluation of your foreign documents and records. Fee must be paid by check or money order payable in U.S. dollars. You may also pay the fee on-line using a major credit card. Please make check out to: UW-Parkside.

SUBMIT MATERIAL:

  1. A Completed Application for Undergraduate International Student Admission. You can fill out an application on-line at http://apply.wisconsin.edu.
  2. Application fee of $44.00
  3. Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score. A score of 525 on the paper test (197 computer based or 71 internet based) is required. For information regarding the location of the test centers nearest you and for making arrangements to take the TOEFL test visit the website: http://www.ets.org/toefl
  4. A Sponsorship Statement Form (pdf) documenting support for one year of study.
  5. Original bank statement or bank letter documenting sufficient funds for one year of study. Photocopies and FAX cannot be accepted.
  6. Official transcripts from all secondary schools, colleges and universities attended. Records must be in the original language with certified English translations. Official records should include all exam, test results, certificates, diplomas or degrees received.
  7. To receive transfer credits from a foreign university a prospective student must have their transcripts evaluated through one of the recommended companies:

          ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators)
          WES (World Education Services):

          OEC (One Earth Credential Evaluations)
