Description:

TeachingBooks' mission is to generate enthusiasm for books and reading by bringing authors, illustrators and engaging resources about books for children and teens to every school, library and home.

From one easy-to-use website, TeachingBooks makes instantly available original, in-studio movies of authors and illustrators, audio excerpts of professional book readings, guides to thousands of titles and a wealth of multimedia resources on children's and young adult literature.

TeachingBooks was founded upon the premise that educators find enjoyment and professional value in seeing and hearing authors talk about their work.

TeachingBooks' methodology is centered around optimizing technology to enable authors to be seen and heard and to provide access to quality literature resources. Thousands of reliable links are catalogued into a relational database that is organized by author, title, subject and grade. Educators find materials through instantly sortable tables and from personally tailored reports filled with hotlinks that match each subscriber's specific interests.

To access TeachingBooks.net, you must be a registered subscriber. You can tell if you're signed in or not by looking at the top of your screen for the words, "Hello" and your first name. If it says, "Sign In!" in the upper right corner, then you need to sign in and / or register.

Registering for TeachingBooks is a brief process, and your profile can be changed anytime to reflect different interests, a new email address or to request TeachingBooks "Eye-on-the-Web" emails.
