The
database is known for the high quality of its indexing
and abstracting, which have set information industry
standards. For each article, the abstract may be
as long as 150 words, and about 20 elements are
indexed, including not only bibliographic information
but also subjects companies, people, and geographic
areas.
Skilled
indexers apply descriptors from both a controlled
vocabulary of more than 8,000 natural language subject
terms and a numeric classification system that categorizes
