Want scholarly
or peer-reviewed journal articles?
Very
often, your instructors will require that you use only scholarly, or peer-reviewed,
journals in your research. A scholarly journal differs from popular magazines,
such as Time, Newsweek, etc, in that they report original
research in a specific field or discipline, are written by and intended
for scholars and researchers , cite sources with footnotes and/or bibliographies,
are most often printed on plain paper, include tables, figures, charts
and have little or no advertising. Some databases include both types of
publications - some index only scholarly journals.
