Planning and Implementation Process

The planning and implementation process outlined herein is intended to facilitate consistency and continuity in planning and implementation from year to year (see Appendix A for a full diagram of the process and Appendix B for a planning and implementation checklist). UW System will facilitate communication between the current and future host institutions throughout the planning and implementation process. The process is subdivided into the following categories: preparation, registration, logistics, on-site activities, assessment and evaluation, and follow up.

Preparation. The process begins with the confirmation of the UW host institution and the conference dates immediately following the previous AMSLC. The host institution in collaboration with UW System and the next host institution prepares a budget and projects cost per student based on anticipated student attendance. In the meantime, students may begin working with a faculty/staff mentor to develop an abstract, project, and presentation for the conference.
