As a native of the Milwaukee area, Suzanne Geoffrey has played both oboe and English horn with many southeastern Wisconsin orchestras, including the Sheboygan, Madison, Green Bay, and Kenosha Symphony Orchestras, the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra in Madison. Currently, Suzanne is principal oboe of the Racine Symphony, the Manitowoc Symphony, and the Wisconsin Wind Orchestra. She is the associate principal oboe of the Waukesha Symphony, and plays English horn in the Waukesha and Festival City Symphony orchestras. She also has experience performing on the oboe d'amore with the Racine Symphony, the Waukesha Symphony, and the Lakeshore Chorale in Sheboygan, performing works of Mahler and J.S. Bach.
The Wisconsin Wind Orchestra toured The Netherlands in May 2002. One of the highlights for Suzanne was performing live on the radio from the Concertgebow in Amsterdam. The tour consisted of several performances in 13th to 17th century cathedrals throughout Holland and The Netherlands, along with the live radio performance.
Suzanne has been a featured as a soloist on oboe performing the Haydn - Concerto for Oboe with the University Community Orchestra in Milwaukee, and with the Manitowoc Symphony in a performance of J.S. Bach's Concerto for Oboe and Violin on one of their regular season concerts. In Fall 2002, she had the opportunity to play Bach's Concerto for Oboe d'Amore and Orchestra with the Racine Symphony Orchestra.
Suzanne's current faculty appointments include Beloit College, Carroll College, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She is in demand as a clinician throughout southeastern Wisconsin, and maintains a private studio for students of all levels. Suzanne is also active as a chamber musician, performing with the UW-Whitewater Faculty Woodwind Quintet and the Carroll College Faculty Wind Trio during the school year and the Semplice Harbor Faculty Wind Quintet in the summer. Semplice Harbor is a week long chamber music class on Washington Island in Door County, WI for college and high school students.
Suzanne is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and attended the University of Arizona on a full-tuition Fellowship for her Master of Music degree in oboe performance.
