Michael Gudbaur has been active on the southeastern Wisconsin music scene for nearly thirty years. After discovering the bass in high school, he began classical studies with James Seay Dean, and later with Karel Netolicka, jazz bassist Harold Miller and cellist Harry Sturm. Currently, he plays with the Racine and Kenosha Symphonies, the Festival City Symphony and the Waukesha-based Wisconsin Philharmonic. As a freelance jazz bassist, he can frequently be found playing in various live-music venues along the Milwaukee/Chicago corridor. He is also in demand for chamber work, as a pit musician, in the recording studio and as a teacher. Mike is a lifelong Racine (WI) resident.
