Junior Doctors of Our Community (Junior DOC)

Junior Doctors of Our Community (Junior DOC) is a one-week, half-day summer camp, giving students the opportunity to explore the world of health careers. Students study physics, biology, math, and chemistry of medicine. They use the Internet to search for data on health careers and medical schools. Students visit various medical facilities and medical schools to interface with medical professionals from Wisconsin. This gives students a better understanding of the responsibilities and duties of healthcare professionals. Students gain knowledge of high school core courses required for college and medical school. The result of student participation is an increase interest in pursuing a career in health care and a desire to take advanced math and science courses upon entering high school.
