Stepping Stones is a comprehensive college program that helps students make a smooth transition from high school to college. Workshops focus on college selection/admission, scholarship search, financial aid process, ACT preparation and college survival strategies. Career exploration and cultural appreciation workshops are also held in addition to campus tours and field trips to businesses and cultural sites. After attending this program, students will have an increased knowledge of the following: college entrance requirements, the college selection and enrollment process, the financial aid process, developing a portfolio of their high school accomplishments, improving their ACT score by participating in ACT Workshops offered on the UW Parkside campus, writing effective and competitive college admissions and scholarship application essays, learning business and social etiquette, awareness of support services located on college campuses, and career opportunities available.
