Registration Information
Initial registration as well as subsequent schedule changes are processed using the SOLAR System. The Spring, Summer and Fall Course Schedules contains a list of all classes available along with the call numbers that are used to identify the classes. Students can pick up a worksheet and instructions for the registration system from the Student Records Office in WYLL D187.
There are some situations that cannot be processed using the registration system and must be done in-person at Student Records. They are:- Independent Study
- Internship
- Registering for overlapping class times
- Permission to register for more than 20 credits
- Permission to add or drop a class after the deadline

Priority Registration
Priority registration periods are held for approximately 2 weeks prior to the end of the fall and spring semesters. For the fall semester this is around mid-April and for the spring semester it is at the beginning of December. No priority registration is scheduled for the summer session. For that session, open registration usually begins around mid-March.
During priority registration, students are assigned an earliest time to call based on the number of credits they have earned and in some cases on their program. Students can find their earliest time for registration on the SOLAR System. After that earliest time, they may access the system during the times available. Students must see their adviser before they can register.
New Freshmen
New freshmen must attend an orientation program. This day-long program includes advising and in-person registration. New Freshmen will need to meet with their adviser for any class schedule changes during their first semester at UW-Parkside.
