Transfer Information

UW-Parkside accepts a maximum of 90 credits in transfer from 4 year accredited institutions and up to 72 credits from any University of Wisconsin two-year Colleges or other two-year institution with an accredited college-parallel liberal arts program. College level courses with a passing grade from such institutions will be applied toward the number of credits required for a degree at UW-Parkside. The Office of the Registrar evaluates transferable credits in relation to general degree requirements and the various academic departments decide which classes will count toward major requirements.

Transfer students with 90 or more acceptable transfer credits will be considered to have completed UW Parkside general education requirements as will students who hold an Associate of Science or Art degree from a UW College or from an accredited college-parallel liberal arts program with a minimum of 45 transferable credits. (Associate of Applied Science degrees are not recognized as college-parallel programs.)

Students enrolled in the Wisconsin Technical College System may be eligible to transfer up to 30 general education credits toward a bachelors degree at UW-Parkside, provided they were completed in Fall 1987 or later. In addition to this, a maximum of two courses in math or science from an approved list of courses may also be transferred provided they were completed in Fall 1995 or later. UW-Parkside also maintains specific program to program agreements with Gateway Technical College which may allow additional credits to be transferred - see Articulation Agreements.

Transfer Evaluation

A full official evaluation of transfer credits as they relate to general education requirements is provided by the Office of Registrar within 14 working days after a student receives an acceptance letter from the Office of the Admissions.

University of Wisconsin Transfer Information System

This system enables the user to determine how courses transfer from one UW institution or Wisconsin Technical College to another and also provides information about all UW institutions, their courses and programs.

Articulation Agreements

The university has articulation agreements with the College of Lake County, Gateway Technical College, and the UW Colleges. All other university credit will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
