General Education Courses

UW-Parkside may accept in transfer up to 30 credits of general education course work within the areas of communication, behavioral sciences and social sciences from WTCS programs leading to an associate degree of applied sciences; and in addition, two courses in mathematics and/or natural sciences (regardless of number of credits).

Breadth of Knowledge
As part of the UW-Parkside degree, a student must complete a minimum of 36 credits of “Breadth of Knowledge” (BOK) courses. Twelve credits are required from the humanities and arts, 12 credits from the social and behavioral sciences and 12 credits from the natural sciences. General education courses may be used to meet BOK areas where applicable.

English Competency Requirement
If you have taken 801-195 Written Communication and received a grade of C- or better, you meet the English competency requirement at UW-Parkside. Degree credits for 801-195 are part of the 30 general education credits possible in transfer.

Math Competency Requirement
If you have taken 804-175 and/or 804-177 and have a “C-” in each course you meet the math competency at UW-Parkside and are eligible to receive 3-7 credits in transfer.
