Some individuals who have returned to their communities after living elsewhere have established small businesses such as farms. One man established a farm on the outskirts of Ijebu-Jesa as his own contribution to local development. Others have established other types of enterprises, such as bakeries, honey, and poultry production. In Iloko, Oba Olashore has set up Community Development Investments, with several small businesses, including a farm, piggery, and bakery. One of the enterprises is a cement block factory, shown here. The cement blocks are sold for local construction projects. Individual enterprises such as these provide employment for local residents and help to diversify the local economy.
